New Document Camera!

The Northview PTA bought the music rooms new document cameras! We read the story Jump, Frog, Jump! by Robert Kalan using the camera to show the words, pictures, and picture clues on our SmartBoard. We then performed the book with our instrumentarium. Thank you, NV PTA!

1st grade program

1st grade had a great time practicing and performing their 1st grade program "Best Friends". They sang songs about Jack and Jill, Lucy Locket and Kitty Fisher, and Sally and Tommy flying to space. The favorite from the program was definitely a medley from the hit movie Frozen.

Winnetonka Glee Camp

Twelve Northview students participated in the Winnetonka Glee Camp on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Mr. James Swofford was the guest clinician. Students learned several energetic songs with choreography and performed them for family and friends in an afternoon concert. Glee Camp was a fundraiser for the Winnetonka High School choirs. All singers had a great time and hope to participate again next year.

Space Walks (and Line Walks) in Music Class

First Grade Students learned about the staff. We counted the 5 lines and 4 spaces by taking line walks and space walks.

5th Grade students explored Garage Band using the mobile computer lab. Projects were saved to the shared drive to edit or to use in video, slideshow or power point presentations later this year.

Kindergarten students added some Holiday Cheer to their singing by playing the jingle bells. Students can now identify over five classroom percussion instruments by sight and sound.

4th grade to the Symphony

Northview 4th Graders went to the symphony on October 17th. They learned about all the different instruments and some even enjoyed a front row seat! Take a look at the link to watch as the student tell you about the symphony
